Brown recently announced the bold “Operational Plan for Investing in Research,” a comprehensive strategy for targeted investments and increased support structures for faculty, staff and students, as well as expanded research facilities. These efforts are contributing to a construction boom in Providence’s Jewelry District, with new research and commercialization facilities expected to come online within the coming years.
Entrepreneurship is flourishing in Rhode Island with Rhode Island Startup Week growing from a single-day event to a weeklong celebration of local innovation. Further, PitchBook recently ranked Brown in the Top 20 for number of startup founders among universities worldwide, and No. 1 for the most money raised per entrepreneur.
The Innovation@Brown Showcase celebrates and builds on these developments, providing an opportunity for you to meet investors, academic researchers, entrepreneurs and regional leaders and learn more about this growing ecosystem around Brown.
The event will include a keynote address, a conversation with Rhode Island startups, an award ceremony recognizing recent groundbreaking inventions, a technology showcase and opportunities to learn more about working with Brown and others leading the way in innovation.
